Jewelry Box

A little wooden box finished with the greatest care

The treasures of the heart would soon be placed in there.

This simple item passed one generation to another,

And on the lid these words inscribed by her Great-Grandmother:

“Be mindful, my sweet daughter, of what you place inside;

This box will soon be passed to yet another bride.

In your prayers and in your warnings, be humble and be wise,

Someday you’ll see God’s love will be reflected in her eyes.

May the treasures in this box be the truth we all embrace

And the Rock we stand upon in the storms we all must face.

”That simple little box with not a ruby or a gem,

But words of inspiration from which the strongest faith will stem.
